Going Nuts In The Bush – Orange & Bathurst

November 29th 2024 @ 10:00am and 5:30pm |
Bathurst & Orange, NSW, Australia

Plus Community and Housing Plus, with the support of Bathurst Regional Council and Orange Regional Council, is thrilled to announce the return of Going Nuts in the Bush for its second year.

This community event is dedicated to raising awareness and showing support for those impacted by Domestic and Family Violence.

Community members are invited to join in dancing the Nutbush on November 29th, sending a powerful message of solidarity and support for survivors and their families.

This year’s event will take place in two locations:

  • Bathurst – King’s Parade at 5:30pm
  • Orange – Robertson Park at 10:00am

The Nutbush dance was chosen as a tribute to the late Tina Turner, a beloved icon and survivor of Domestic and Family Violence. Tina’s resilience and courage in overcoming her experiences made her a powerful symbol for survivors worldwide, and her legacy continues to inspire strength and hope.

Going Nuts in the Bush is part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, a global campaign led by UN Women that runs annually from November 25 to December 10. During this time, communities across the world unite to call for the prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls.

Attendees are encouraged to wear orange, the official color of the 16 Days campaign, symbolising a brighter future free from violence.
