Domestic and Family Violence is a deeply entrenched issue that affects our communities, our nation, and the world. It is a pervasive and often indiscriminate force, taking many forms and leaving behind devastating, long-lasting consequences.
As a provider of Domestic and Family Violence services, we are bound by strict confidentiality requirements. The privacy of both current and past clients is crucial, and as such, we do not discuss individual cases publicly. While this commitment to confidentiality may leave us vulnerable to inaccurate or misleading criticism, we firmly believe that prioritising the wellbeing of our clients and survivors is far more important than addressing every misconception or defending ourselves against false claims.
Our team is dedicated to supporting and empowering victims of Domestic and Family Violence. Our Domestic and Family Violence services cover court assistance, emergency accommodation, brokerage, home security, referrals to other services, and more. Despite our commitment, experience, and empathy, there are times when our efforts alone are not enough.
We will continue to do everything in our power to support those in need. However, we will not tolerate the shifting of blame away from the user of violence. To do so only perpetuates a culture that normalises violence and enables users of violence to avoid responsibility for the harm they cause.
In addition to our direct services, we advocate for the need for systemic change, including legal reforms that ensure stronger protection for survivors and provide more effective interventions for users of violence. It is only through combined efforts in education, legal reform, and community support that we can address the root causes of Domestic and Family Violence.
