Introducing Plus Community and our new brand!

Introducing Plus Community and our new brand!

Sharing some exciting news..

We’ve made a decision as we evolve and grow, to create a new organisation that is part of Housing Plus called Plus Community. As part of this exciting change, we are also launching a new look and feel for both Housing Plus and Plus Community.

This change effective today, the 1 May 2024, will better define our dual role as both a housing provider and support service for our customers. This is also part of a larger transformation project to improve our customer experience!

So what does this mean?
  • Housing Plus will continue to be the home of our Housing Services, including tenancy, allocations, assets, and maintenance.
  • Plus Community will house all our Community Services, including Staying Home Leaving Violence (SHLV), Women’s Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service (WDVCAS), The Orchard Emergency Domestic Violence Accommodation, the Initial Transitional Service (ITS), the Orange Homelessness Support Service, Men’s Behaviour Change, Opportunity Pathways, and Together Home.

What does this mean for you?

Housing Plus Customers
  • Over time, we will be updating the look of our policies, forms, and documents to include our new branding and logos.
  • As part of this change, we are updating our banking details for future rent and/or household payments. For those who have their rent and/or household payments deducted via CPAY, there is no action required. If you manually transfer rent and/or household payments, please update our details in your online banking portal.
  • If you need help updating these, please contact your Housing Officer with any questions.

Plus Community Clients

Aside from seeing our awesome new colours, branding and the Plus Community name, you will start to see:

  • Plus Community on uniforms and certain documents such as forms, information brochures and promotional materials.
  • Your regular contacts may now be a part of Plus Community. Expect to start seeing some email addresses change to contact@pluscommunity.org.au. If you are unsure and send an email to a Plus Community contact’s old email address (@housingplus.com.au), they will still receive it.

ATTENTION HOUSING PLUS TENANTS! WE WANT YOUR FEEDBACK

Many of you would be aware that each year in conjunction with the Community Housing Industry Association (CHIA) NSW, the industry peak body for community housing providers in NSW, we carry out a Customer Satisfaction Survey.

This provides you with an opportunity to let us know what we do well and where we can improve. It helps us understand what is important to you so we can plan, seek out funding support and adapt our organisation to better service and support you.

Please keep an eye out for a letter from CHIA, which will have your survey enclosed. You can expect your survey to arrive in the post in April and you can either complete the hard copy return it using the reply-paid envelope provided, or use the username and password on the front page to complete the survey online via the below link.

I want to fill out my survey on my mobile or tablet

We value your feedback and encourage you to complete the survey before Friday 2nd June.

All tenants who complete the survey by 2nd June 2023 (Friday) will be automatically entered into a prize draw to WIN a free week’s rent. There is one rent free week per office: Orange, Dubbo, Mudgee and Bathurst, including surrounding towns.

We are continually looking for ways to improve our service to our customers and look forward to reviewing the feedback that comes from the survey.

In response to last year’s survey, we have filtered your feedback into several key projects. Over the past 12 months we have conducted a complete review of our complaints and feedback policy and process, implemented a new phone system to improve communications and we continue our repairs and maintenance review.

We are also in the process of re-designing our website to make finding information easier for everyone and will be including a self-serve function for our customers based on your feedback. This will enable those of you who would prefer to access and or update information, view your statement or access other service functions online, particularly outside of business hours. We will be asking for assistance to test ease of use and functionality in the coming months.

If you have any questions about the survey or how the information will be used please feel free to contact our Insights and Strategy Coordinator, Carrie Drage, on 1800 603 300 who will be pleased to assist you.

Design Guide: Specialist Domestic Violence Accommodation

Design Guide: Specialist Domestic Violence Accommodation

This Design Guide has been developed by Housing Plus in collaboration with Custance Architects. It explores the importance of providing thoughtful and high[1]quality design for those affected by domestic and family violence (DFV) and key factors that need to be considered when new facilities are designed and built, through design that meets their need for dignity, independence, safety and connection. The Design Guide outlines the necessary standards, principles and features that are essential in delivering successful future housing for those affected by DFV and has been developed in collaboration with other key stakeholders with experience in providing DFV accommodation across Australia. The Guide is a work in progress document that will, over time, continue to improve with the feedback and survey work that we intend to continue with local, state, and federal stakeholders.

This design guide has been developed for organisations or individuals involved in developing new or refurbished specialist DFV accommodation in Australia. It is proposed that this guide will be used by community housing providers, government agencies, specialist DFV and homelessness providers, private developers, Architects, Planners and other development professionals. The guide has been developed in such a way that development professionals can apply the design standards and features, included within this guide, to the different state planning policies across Australia.

We are confident this guide will prove a valuable resource in the provision of fit for purpose housing that truly encompasses the diverse requirements of those affected by DFV.
